Sight Focus 53 October 15, 2015 : This is a painting on polycarbonate sheet and construction paper, using acrylic paint. The title is "Colloquy Is Native To The Pendulum", which is also a song name from a track on the new album "Presumably, Of Course". Both pieces music and painting were constructed to the same theme.
Sight Focus 52- September 28, 2015 : Today Nasa confirmed evidence that water most likely flows on Mars; that means we grow even a little more interested in sending man to the red planet to see for himself. This announcement also has me thinking back on creating The Globe As A Graph. While creating the film I wondered, if we do send a man to Mars and he lands; how would that effect someone on the average ordinary day. So I started thinking about this possible scenerio, if someone one was starting a new business a bakery persay when or if we land the first man on Mars. My goal while filming this project was to try and provide a small glimpse into that time window on film . ..A very brief glimpse :)

The title is " Ontic & The Aberration". It is part of the Ontic series, you can find another painting that is part of this series below. I have also written and recorded music based on the Ontic themes, and I will share some of that at a later date. It may be hard to see the layers involved in this painting without seeing it in person, but if you zoom in a little you can make some of it out. - Marcus

Sight Focus 47: August 7,2015 - This is a painting on canvas and painted board, using acrylic. The dimensions are 14x12. The painting is titled " If There Were A Knob To Turn Down The Vociferous Whir Of Life". This summer has kind of developed into a painting summer for me. Although I have been painting for about 8 years, I have increased my frequency lately. I think it has something to do with it helping me turn down that backgorund static of life sometimes :). Sight Focus 41 : A beautiful place I came across recently.
Sight Focus 40 : Paintings on open weaved cotton cloth. These are 3 paintings on the theme of aburration. I painted these one after another, they are really 1 painting done in 3 seperate sections. Like music, you can make a music composition in 3 movements; well this would be a painting in 3 movements. That was the thought process I had while painting them, making music in 3 movements. I worked on these for several months and they have had slight color variations. But they are finally done.
Sight Focus 39: Some micro observations, {an air pocket forming in a dense liquid}. I have made some film/visuals and music compositions from these observations recently; I will share these completely in the future most likely. Some of these belong to the "Presumably, Of Course" project, which is another project I plan on releasing in the future. For those who were waiting for the title of the project, there it is! it is called "Presumably, Of Course".
Sight Focus 38 : 2 photos from "The Globe As A Graph Trailer # 2"
- Right now here in Portland, the port of Portland ( which is the hub of all global imports and exports in Portland) are in the midst of labor disputes. This weekend they have shut down all cargo vessel loading and unloading completely. This will affect manufacturers and importers who receive and send their cargo by ship. Manufacturers like Honda and Suburu are already making plans to send some parts by Airplane. This also affects the average person looking to by a new car to get them to work the next day. It's not often that we here about whats going on in the shipping industry unless there is a massive problem; and that is a strange thing because we are a global society and economy, and we are very reliant on the shipping industry. I studied the shipping industry a small bit while I was creating "The Globe As A Graph", and I think it is safe to say that it is an integral part of modern existence.
One beautiful sunny summer weekend I went to enjoy some water, and every now and then a big shipping vessel or other industrial boat cruises by. People including myself get pretty excited, because the boats passing creates a huge wake which is a beautiful thing. I also thought it is not often I think about the person who is on that cargo boat who is shipping daily goods to us, so that are daily lives can resume on unagitatedly. I found beauty and darkness in the same place just on the average day. Although a big cargo boat on the water is visually a beautiful thing, there is someone who has to operate that cargo boat on that beautiful sunny summer weekend.

Sight Focus 36 : Jan.26, 2015. - This is my barograph, and my weather analysis I had going for a few weeks. It is interesting to observe the fluctuations. I guess it is one definitive way we see the world behave in a graph like manor :) :)

Sight Focus 27 : Fall Autumn 2014 through a microscope. This fall I gathered some leaves, and I examined their color and structure on a microscopic level. Also here is a photograph of my colorful neighborhood. I hope you enjoy them. I will share more microscopic studies in the future I presume.

- "Thursday" My latest painted lightbulb. Here is a collection of some of my painted light bulbs. A photo of this is hard to share, because there is nothing like seeing how these bulbs light up a room. You would have to be there I guess:) However I will say that they definitely warm up a fall/winter evening.
"Wednesday" - Open a curtain to the ocean, a photograph I took on a recent beach trip. A place I miss on this wednesday.
"Tuesday" - This is a photo from a short film I have yet to show called "Breakfast With The Silos". These visuals are part of a trilogy of sorts that use the idea breakfast, lunch, and dinner to spring board from.
"The Incongruent Menu" short film was the dinner portion...I will show them all together when they are all done.
"Monday" - This is a geometrical lamp/ light piece I created recently. Here is a picture of the lamp and a diagram for the idea.

Sight Focus 18 : Painted light bulbs. I have painted a few light bulbs over time. This bulb was modeled after an old fashion antique mirror. Sight Focus 17: Notes on plant life. This plant was grown from the seed and observed over a couple months. Plant growth shows propagation patterns which is essential to communications. The leaves may also be a mini map of time based existence...I have written special music for these studies, so keep yours peeled for that.
